Why is my air conditioner blowing out hot air?
There are several reasons your air conditioner may not be circulating cool air. One of these could be dirty filter and or dirty coils. The collection of dust and dirt on the filter and or coils over time prevents them from doing their job. Low coolant levels could also be the culprit. Coolant does not typically need to be replaced, so if your levels are low, there is likely a leak somewhere in your system. Understanding the Cost of New Flooring
Believe it or not, when deciding on new flooring, your first consideration should not be style, color, texture, finish or even the price range. The basic starting point should be deciding what type of product you want. Do you want soft carpet, durable porcelain tile, or elegant hardwood floors? Knowing the price of different flooring options makes the choice easier. Pricing varies widely based on the type of floor you select. For example, let’s assume you have a 400-square-foot family room that is currently carpeted. Here is the average cost for various types of flooring that you could expect to pay if you were to choose a medium-priced product, and have it professionally installed. Carpet: $2,000 Laminate: $2,800 Luxury vinyl plank: $3,200 Hardwoods 3/4”: $4,000 Tile: $6,000 As you can see, the type of flooring you choose makes a big difference in regard to your budget.
Of course, there are other important things to consider. For instance, the average person replaces their carpet every nine years. So, if you live in your home for 20 years, you will replace your carpet at least once, maybe twice. In contrast, you will almost certainly have the same wood floor for 20 years. Over time, the higher-priced options tend to pay for themselves because of the longevity of the product. However, this doesn’t necessarily make you feel better when you write the initial check. Luxury vinyl is all the rage! The industry has made impressive strides in the design of this material. It’s durable but looks almost identical to a variety of more high-maintenance flooring options. Homeowners are moving away from darker colors with glossy finishes and toward lighter and medium-toned woods with more ‘character.’ The distressed look is great for families with children and pets who might add some nicks and scratches.

he traditional ranch house can evoke an uninspiring image of cookie-cutter dwellings with less than favorable ceiling height. “Modern,” “open,” and “bursting with natural light” aren’t words that typically come to mind. However, these six redesigns prove that with the right vision and the tools to bring it to life, today’s ranch home can be as unique as your fingerprint.

When Craig Hatfield partner at H & M Property Investments did a deep dive of this scruffy fixer-upper, he found a host of problems. “We had no choice but to go in and literally take it down to the studs,” says Hatfield. “It’s basically a new home.” Luckily, some items of the 1930s home were salvageable. The oak accent wall in the dining/sitting area was hidden under drywall in the original structure. “This is gorgeous original wood that you just don’t find nowadays,” Hatfield says. What started as a consultation about building a carport morphed into a dramatic overhaul of this 1950s home. The owner, a lawyer and avid art collector, wanted to open the living space and boost natural light, which was achieved by installing a stunning all-glass entrance with a pivoting middle door. The lot of this traditional 1950s ranch extends several hundred feet into a wooded area, with a 100-year-old beech tree anchored just off the back deck. “The owners wanted to open up the back of the house so they could enjoy the beauty of their site,” explains architect Robert M. Cain. Underneath the deck and overhang is a gardening room/potting shed and additional storage space. Incorporating eco-friendly elements was important to the couple, so geothermal systems were installed; bricks removed during demolition were repurposed as paving for walkways around the house; and waste materials (wood, metal, drywall, etc.) were recycled on- and off-site. glamping tent Camping gets an upgrade with these fabulous and family-friendly destinations.
During a beach vacation in February 2018, Rebeka and Nathan Self realized their family was more focused on the technology in their hotel room than the stunning scenery around them. It was then that the parents of two girls decided a special camping trip was in order. In preparation for the excursion, the couple thought back to their international travels and the glamping tents they’d heard about. After not being able to find the upscale option locally, the duo created Georgia Glamping Company to offer deluxe destination campsites to help bring families closer to nature, and each other, without having to “rough it.” A little over a month after their trip to Florida, the Selfs got to work. They thoughtfully researched the best materials and items to include in their first glamping tent. Their home away from home looked much like what you see today.

According to the United States Environmental Protection Agency, 21.3 million tons of yard trimmings and 2.1 million tons of food
Brown waste consists of fallen leaves, finely chopped twigs and branches, cardboard, shredded paper, and newspaper. Green waste consists of grass clippings, green plant parts, fruit peels, vegetable cores and stems, and tea/coffee grounds.
The compost pile is a microbial farm, teeming with bacteria, fungi, insects and earthworms. The microorganisms and insects feeding on the organic matter need air to help the process, so you need to turn your compost over regularly. Avoid adding meat scraps, bones or dairy products because they may attract unwanted animals.
You can begin by using an indoor or outdoor compost bin or by creating a compost pile in your yard. The location should be a well-drained site, in an out-of-the-way place, and in full sun. Your compost pile won’t smell bad if there is good ventilation, your greens to browns ratio is correct, and it isn’t too wet. Atlanta’s own Ty Pennington Appearing on the Home Show Stage Ty Pennington could easily be referred to as America’s best-known carpenter. He first gained attention on the groundbreaking home improvement TV series Trading Spaces. Later, as host of ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, he helped to transform lives, while inspiring millions to volunteer their time to help others. For Food Network’s American Diner Revival, he traveled the country breathing new life into local diners. In 2018, Pennington reunited with the cast of TLC’s Trading Spaces for a new season of episodes, which instantly became the network’s No. 1 show. Pennington grew up in the greater Atlanta area, graduating from Marietta’s Sprayberry High School, and attending Kennesaw State University and the Art Institute of Atlanta, where he graduated with a degree in graphic design. He recently authored a new book, “Life to the Extreme: How a Chaotic Kid Became America’s Favorite Carpenter.” Ty will appear live onstage Sunday, Sept. 29 at 1 p.m.

What’s one thing you wish every homeowner knew? Don’t get frustrated! Stay on track, and you’ll enjoy every project. What are your best small space living hacks? Use multi purpose furniture and unique storage ideas. What décor items are worth splurging on? Art, accessories, and books. What’s something to watch out for when working with a contractor or interior designer? Everything. Stay in control and ask questions. Don’t be afraid to state your opinion. What are your best outdoor décor tips? Keep it simple and natural. Good lighting goes a long way, too. Would you rather upgrade your closet, bathroom or kitchen? Since I just built a new home, I’m pretty good with all three but I can always use more closet space. What’s a must-have at any party you’re throwing? Old-school albums and record player. If you had to move to another country, which would you pick and why? That’s tough—but either Japan, where I lived when I was in my 20s, or Germany, where I lived when I was a kid. I love both countries, and they feel like home. Could you live in a tiny home? Sure! I have in the past. It’s all about adapting. What project have you been most proud to work on? Aside from the nearly 300 homes we built for Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, it’s the house I designed for me and my mom in Florida. What are the three things you can’t live without? My camera, good Thai food, and friends and family. Which HGTV or DIY Network star would you most like to work with and why? There are so many today, and I’ve worked with many of them, but Hildi (designer Hildi Santo-Tomas) and I always have an amazing time together. You’ve been interviewed many times. helped remodel a bedroom for five children in the Bolton Road community. Dean
describes the team’s involvement in the Extreme Bedroom Makeover projects as “a highlight for us each year.”

After speaking with each of the children, the makeover crew quickly discovered flowers and the color red were favorites among the group. Armed with this knowledge, volunteers, including MODA Floors & Interiors staff members, painted the walls, installed new flooring, and added storage before accessorizing the room with bright red anemone bedding and red butterfly and flower appliqués.
