Biography
Bustamante earned a B.S. in speech from the University of Texas, going on to receive his J.D. from the University of Houston in 1979. He has more than 28 years of experience as an attorney in private practice.[1] [2][1]

The city of San Antonio, Texas, held general elections for mayor and all 10 of its city council seats on May 6, 2017. Candidates had to earn a majority of the votes cast in this election to win. Any race where no candidate received a majority (50 percent plus one) of the general election votes cast for that position advanced to a runoff election on June 10, 2017. 2016
Texas held general elections for local judicial offices on November 8, 2016. A primary election took place on March 1, 2016. A primary runoff election was held on May 24, 2016, for any seat where the top vote recipient did not receive a majority of the primary vote.[4] Rosie Alvarado defeated Lauro Bustamante in the Texas 438th District Court Democratic primary.[5]
