I am Brian Raines. I am a Navy Veteran, a third-generation union member, a millwright and business representative for the Carpenters Union, a single dad to two incredible boys and I am running to represent District 34A in the Minnesota State House.

I believe that working-class representation needs to come from working-class leadership and that we need elected leaders who will champion our shared values rather than continue sewing political division, finger-pointing, and quitting before the job is done.

I have spent my career defending and serving working families like mine, and now I hope to bring that same passion and drive to the Capitol to deliver results for Minnesotans.

  • We need leaders who understand the issues of everyday Minnesotans. For far too long the wealthy and the well-connected continue to thrive while working-class Minnesotans struggle. That is unacceptable and something that I will work to address when elected.
  • As a Navy Veteran, I swore to protect and preserve the freedoms of all Americans. The attacks on our rights and freedoms-- including a woman's right to choose are unacceptable and set an extremely dangerous precedent. I will fiercely defend our freedoms here in Minnesota when elected.
  • We need to unite around the values that unite the majority of us, rather than divide the minority of us. We all want to be able to get the care we need when we need it without going bankrupt. We all want to be able to pay our bills and afford to put food on the table. We all want to build a better future for our kids. We all want to ensure our freedoms are protected. I am ready to be a champion for our shared values at the Capitol

I am personally passionate about labor relations and workforce development, veteran services-- along with other health and human services, and education.
