Expand all | Collapse all

Carol currently serves as State Representative for the 74th House District. Carol’s field program, combined with her powerful message of fighting for west Michigan values and delivering common sense solutions for families resulted in her flipping this district that Trump carried by 16 points.

Glanville was born and raised in West Michigan by two union workers, and she went on to live and raise her family in the Walker community. She has extensive professional experience as a classroom teacher, administrator, education consultant, and local elected official that serves on many community boards.

Carol is running for State House to advocate for hard-working families on the issues that matter most. Including helping with rising costs, investing in infrastructure and broadband access, using her experience as a teacher to keep schools open and safe, and working with businesses to create good-paying jobs.

Schools & Skills: a strong public education–one that is equitable and accessible–is essential to our community’s future. We need to find ways to make higher education more affordable for those who choose that path, and provide access to community college and vocational and technical schools for those seeking other opportunities.

Good-paying jobs: our economy has diversified to include medical research, brewing, and manufacturing. But that’s just the beginning. A strong economy includes investment in infrastructure to ensure Grand Rapids remains one of the best places in the nation to live and raise a family.

Waterways: an integral part of the character and livelihood of West Michigan is the Grand River and surrounding watershed. We have a responsibility to institute strong, sound water quality policy that protects our rivers, streams, and drinking water for future generations.

Reproductive Healthcare: safe, accessible healthcare can not be about legislating bodies. Putting limits on reproductive health care violates Michiganders rights, and it is my duty to help protect the rights and freedoms of our citizens.

Scorecards

See also: State legislative scorecards and State legislative scorecards in Michigan

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.

Click here for an overview of legislative scorecards in all 50 states.  To contribute to the list of Michigan scorecards, email suggestions to editor@ballotpedia.org.
