Bonhams : A London brown stoneware tavern mug, circa 1720-50

Green glazed jug with brown, green and cream stripes, top decorated with a man's bearded face,body of the jug show the man's arms & hands, hands are clenched together. Kingston-type ware like this, are usually highly decorated conical jugs with anthropomorphic motifs.
