Flags on the legislative grounds

Flags are flown at half-mast from sunrise to sunset on June 23 for the National Day of Remembrance for Victims of Terrorism.

The national flag of Canada and flag of Ontario are flown on the main flagpoles on the front lawn of the Legislative Building. Typically the flags are flown at full-mast, meaning they are fully raised. Flags are flown at half-mast to show respect and to express sorrow in memory of the deceased. Half-masting of flags at the Legislative Assembly of Ontario indicates a statement of loss shared by all Ontarians.
