Video: Wildfires ravage Canada, some threatening cities and towns

Severe wildfires in western Canada this week prompted thousands of evacuations due to the ongoing drought.

Approximately 6,000 people were instructed to leave Fort McMurray, Alberta. Another 3,000 individuals were ordered to evacuate Fort Nelson, British Columbia, where a fire is dangerously close, just 2.5km (1.5 miles) away from the town. Multiple fires continue to burn across Canada, with some threatening nearby towns and cities.

Evacuation alerts have been issued in Alberta and Manitoba as well.

The smoke from these fires has triggered air quality alerts in both Canada and the US.
