This product allows students to access online course materials and communicate with instructors and other students. Beginning the first day of class, students only have access to courses for the current semester or term. This product offers a method for instructors to create online sites for their courses. On this site they can post course content, create and administer tests and quizzes, manage grades, email class members, and create on-line discussion groups. The product is menu-driven and does not require any special technical knowledge.
Students who are registered for the class can view or download course content, take online tests or quizzes, view grades, email other class members, or participate in discussion groups with other class members.
To access Blackboard, sign in at the Blackboard my institution page or go to the BYU home page and click the Blackboard link. Once you sign in, you will see only courses you have created using the Blackboard Course Management Utility (CMU) or courses in which you are officially enrolled as a student. If you are a co-instructor or a teaching assistant, you will not have access to the course until the course creator adds you to the course through the Course Management Utility. Changes made through the CMU do not appear for 24 hours.
Additional information about the CMU is available through the link on the sidebar of this page.
