Reading at The National Library of Wales

Opening hours of the Reading Rooms:    

 

  • 9:30 – 6:00 Monday – Friday
  •  9:30 – 5:00 Saturday

 

 

The National Library of Wales has 2 Reading Rooms:

 

 

North Reading Room

 

In this room you can access the Library’s printed material – books, journals and original newspapers.

 

 

South Reading Room

 

In this room you can access material relating to family history, and non-print material such as archives, manuscripts, microforms, photographs and pictures.

 

 

National Screen and Sound Archive of Wales

 

In the National Screen and Sound Archive of Wales you can access sound, film and television material. The Archive offers a watching and listening service for the public in the Archive’s office in The National Library of Wales.

 

You may search for items in the online catalogues, but a current reading ticket is required to order materials to view in the Library.
