How did you become involved in the station?
6UVSFM and the music mayhem it broadcast shone beacon like upon my dreary early teenage years. I waited patiently for 92.1RTR to rise from its ashes and decided that I would lurk in the coffee room washing many cups until Cinderella like I would be whisked away to a program collective. This fairy tale became true and for the 1990s’ the station in its UWA location became my second home. The land of the rising sun and Europe beckoned with the turn of the millennium and I returned to Perth and then to RTR92.1FM in 2014.

What is the best thing about being involved in the station?
Being part of a community of fellow arts and music-minded obsessives. The station provides the opportunity to always discover new exciting musical pathways and hear alternative rational, hilarious, informed opinions.
What is the strangest thing that has happened to you at RTRFM?
Being part of RTR means many weird, worrying and wondrous scenarios arise as you come into contact with various ‘artistic’ types; One happy memory is looking out he tiny window of RTR’s coffee room and seeing Maynard F# Crabbs (former Triple J Breakfast host) and Genge (RTR’s then breakfast host) playing Chasey while Maynard played a Trombone. This went on for at least 20 minutes.
If you could present a show other than your own, which would it be and why?
I would love to present Ambient Zone. It’s the cool grandparent of many music genres I love- its’ nurtured so many inspirational artists and movements plus you can almost guarantee there will be one epic track featuring a fantastic modular synth.
What do you do in real life?
I chivvy, jolly along, negotiate and attempt to facilitate the learning of Gifted and Talented youth in Arts Education alongside the parenting of two small Dovelets.
