Art Library – Floor 1

The first floor of the Art Library has a mix of large tables, comfy single-person seating and features great natural light. It can be a high-traffic area due to a heavily-used CCI printer, public computers and scanners.

Art Library – Floor 2

The second floor of the Art Library has nice natural light and study carrels for quiet, individual study. Please note that many of the carrels are assigned to graduate students in the Art Department. Every carrel is free for anyone to use, but the assigned student takes priority if they wish to use it at any given time.

Art Library – Outdoor Patio

The patio outside the art library features outdoor furniture, a grassy area and lots of shade from the surrounding buildings. Campus wi-fi is accessible from the patio.

Davis Library – Collaboration Cubes

The Davis Collaboration Cubes on the second floor seat up to six people. Groups may reserve them and have priority over individual users. These semi-enclosed spaces are intended for collaborative work, so a certain level of noise should be expected. Quieter spaces for study are available on floors 4-8 of Davis Library.

Davis Library – Data Services Presentation & Event Space

Located on the second floor of Davis Library, the event space is a flexible space for programs and presentations. Reservation requests must be made at least one week in advance.

Davis Library – Floor 6

The sixth floor of Davis Library is designated as a silent study space for those who need total quiet to get work done.  All group study rooms are available for reservation. Reservations take priority over walk-in use.

Davis Library – Information Commons

Davis Library Information Commons, to the right and left just past the elevators, offers a limited number of computer stations mainly for individual study.

Davis Library – Lounge (Floor 5)

The Fifth Floor Lounge has comfortable seating, small tables, and four standing desks with views of campus. The standing desks have adjustable height.

A generous allocation from UNC-Chapel Hill’s Summer School was used to purchase the desks, which are available on a first-come, first-served basis throughout the year.

Davis Library – Room 8010

This study space has flexible furniture and comfy chairs for individual or group study. It offers lots of natural light and spectacular views of the campus.

Davis Library – Stacks

There are open study carrels on the north side of the 4th-8th floor. These carrels have privacy barriers and are outfitted with lamps and power outlets. They are ideal for individual study
