As our economy continues to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, Congress must continue to prioritize economic recovery for working-class and middle-class Americans. The 2017 tax cuts only exacerbated the economic disparity our country is facing. In Congress, Kevin supports a progressive, equitable tax code that keeps costs down for working-class families while ensuring that corporations and the wealthiest 1% pay their fair share.
Kevin also believes that members of Congress should be working to support the small businesses that drive America’s economy. As the founder and previous owner of a small business, Kevin knows the challenges facing entrepreneurs. In the California State Assembly, he supported programs that helped small businesses, good-paying union jobs, and closing corporate loopholes, and he will continue to do so in Congress.
As a parent, Kevin has first-hand experience and knows that access to affordable childcare can make a big difference for working families. However, the skyrocketing cost of care combined with a provider shortage has made it increasingly difficult for families. In the California State Assembly, he helped secure record levels of funding for child care and streamlined the process to obtain a child care license. In Congress, Kevin is advocating to fund childcare programs and make the expanded Child Tax Credit permanent to put money back in the pockets of working families.
