Welcome to WikiProject Frisia! Frisia, locally known as Fryslân or Friesland, is a coastal region on the southern coasts of the North Sea that extends from the northeastern Netherlands across northwestern Germany to the border of Denmark. Friesland is also a northern province of the Netherlands with its own distinct language and people. The northernmost part, North Frisia, comprises the Nordfriesland district of Germany and Heligoland island in the German Bight. West Friesland is a historic region in the Netherlands.
