There is no need for two very similar disambiguation pages. It could be written as St., St or Saint. Keeping them all together helps the reader. Other St / Saint disambiguations are like that. 19:13, 14 June 2021 (UTC)

- The thing is if the two pages are identical then there is no need for two. On the other hand if they are not someone may miss what they are looking for it the arrive at one of the disambiguation pages. CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Huliva 19:19, 14 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for creating Sant'Eustachio (disambiguation).

Dab looks good – just so you know, per the guidelines at WP:WPDIS, there's no need to create a talk page with a project tag for WikiProject disambiguation unless there's already discussion there.

- @Asukite:Hello,Asukite. to be honest, I didn't understand well about what is the question. MrKeefeJohn (talk) 18:58, 16 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
- Oh, no worries. I didn't have a question, I just wanted to let you know you created this talk page with a template, {{DisPro}}, but you didn't need to unless there is already discussion on the page. Just wanted to let you know. A lot of other editors do this, and it's not really a big problem for anybody but members of WikiProject disambiguation, I just figured I might save you the trouble next time by letting you know. Thank you for your contributions! ASUKITE 19:17, 16 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
- @Asukite:ok, thanks. Anyway I would like to understand better: if I don't put {{DisPro}}, I see that a BOT does it. Why? It happened many times, but I don't remember in which pages and which bot. That's why I started to do it. MrKeefeJohn (talk) 19:20, 16 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
- Hm.. I have never noticed that. That's funny. I suppose if even a bot is going to ignore the instruction, there's no point in us worrying about it. Thanks for letting me know! ASUKITE 20:39, 16 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
Please stop immediately. Do you have any understanding of the subject? In Perm Krai, there are two Pankovos. If you can npot understand this, just do no edit in the area.--Ymblanter (talk) 07:32, 29 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

- Do you realize that move warring is a blockable offense? And especially in the area under discretionary sanctions?--Ymblanter (talk) 07:35, 29 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
- @Ymblanter 1)don't write me such words. 2) You can explain in a polite and calm way your opinion 3) If a made a mistake I will solve it. MrKeefeJohn (talk) 07:36, 29 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
- I tried but you moved the page back without any explanation. Ok, now you know.--Ymblanter (talk) 07:40, 29 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
- @Ymblanter I think that the way you contact me is unpolite, unfriendly and improper, especially the "threatening" alert message below. Anyway, if the problem is solve, for me the question is closed. MrKeefeJohn (talk) 07:44, 29 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
- I apologize if you find it impolite (and the "threatening message" below is an alert which I am required to give you so that you are notified), but in the future, if you are editing in the area you have little understanding of (and we have some examples on this very page), please instead of starting edit- and move-warring without providing an explanation please try asking people who might have more experience than you. This usually helps.--Ymblanter (talk) 07:52, 29 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
- I know what I'm doing, so don't try to preach me. And if you want someone to understand you, write him in the talk, not somewhere else. Comments like this "and we have some examples on this very page", what are you talking about?, and this "I do not see any added value in having this page, but at the very list it must refer to two other grammatical forms" [1] in my opinion are almost despicable. Anyway, I write for second time, if the problem is solved, for me the question is closed and I don't want you and me to waste time to discuss about it. Bye. MrKeefeJohn (talk) 07:59, 29 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
Ok, you asked me above to write on your talk page. Well, in Russian (as it is different from English) there are declinations. For example, Novy, Novaya and Novoye are three different grammatical forms of the same word, corresponding to masculine, feminine, and neutral. We always have one dab page for these three forms of this word, and there is no valus in creating three dab pages. Moreover, if you create say a page for Novaya and do not link Novy you make the information more difficult to find. You already had the conversation above concerning St. and St, which is a somewhat similar issue. I therefore request you to stop creating unnecesary dab pages and instead collect the material in one place. Note that for Russian localities in most situation we have SET indices such as Novy (inhabited locality), not dab pages. Thank you for understanding.--Ymblanter (talk) 08:15, 29 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
- you can see the page I created here. [2]. If you have time and wish to do it, check them and tell me please which are unusufel. For example Druzhnaya before was the title Druzhnaya,_Perm_Krai [3]. Now it's a dab. It is unuseful? If so, why? Is there a different situation from Rosso (disambiguation), Rossa (disambiguation), Rossi (disambiguation) or from Smiths and Smith or Blanca and Blanco? If different, why and how is different? P.S. It's not necessary to explain me what is Russian language, thank you. --MrKeefeJohn (talk) 08:36, 29 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
- To start with, what was your rationale of this move? This is not a dab page. (I am moving it back now).--Ymblanter (talk) 08:51, 29 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
- to start, why for other countries this pages are just dab? Cittadella (disambiguation), Villefranche, tons of examples in Category:Place_name_disambiguation_pages. Can you link the page in which is explained why Category:Set indices on populated places in Russia are not standard? P.s. don't hurry, for now I logout. MrKeefeJohn (talk) 09:13, 29 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
- I am afraid you do not understand the difference between dab pages and SET indices. A SET index lists all possible values of the term, in case of locality all localities with this name, both those which have articles on Wikipedia and those which do not. (A dab page may not have red links). Therefore SET index, if they are at all possible, are always preferred over dab. For other countries we have dab pages because nobody cared to create SET indices, or because SET indices would not be practical.--Ymblanter (talk) 09:19, 29 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hello. I see you've been doing a lot of re-categorising and other work on topics relevant to WP:ALPS. So, just in case you're not aware of it, do feel free to get involved or sign yourself up at that WikiProject if you wish. I've been trying to work through grading all the unassessed articles, and reassessing all the stub and start class pages recently. I haven't looked at any of the higher-rated ones as yet, so any input you wanted to give would be most welcome, in particular. Although the WikiProject's name seems specifically about mountains, I try to encourage editors to work on related alpine topics including glaciers, mountain huts, mountaineers and guides, and so forth.
As an alpinist who has stayed in quite a few of the higher mountain huts that I see you're busy recategorising, I should perhaps comment that being too detailed with individual regions of Italy, will mean little to nothing to those who might actually look at or search for the articles. For example, anyone with basic interest in the Marco e Rosa Hut would know it's in Italy, albeit very close to the Swiss Border, and would be able to find it by looking at a single category based on one country, but I certainly wouldn't ever consider Lombardy when looking at mountain articles, and doubt many know it falls in that region (it's not really even directly stated within the article).
So, I think keeping them all together on either a country basis (or a mountain range basis) would be considerably more relevant and useful to the topic. Sometimes one can be too eager to split things down into sub-categories, only to find nobody can find anything because related topics are scattered too thinly in multiple places, and people simply give up looking. In other words, too fervent sub-categorisation renders use of the category system worthless. I can't help feeling you might be in danger of doing precisely that with the Italian Mountain Huts if you're stripping out a helpful parent category, only to replace it with one that people are unlikely to look through, or benefit from. - Paris meetings, agreements and declarations (disambiguation) was exactly that: not a list in its own right but a global disambiguation designed to consolidate a bewildering (and sometimes misleading) thicket of Redirects, "See Alsos" and Disambiguations in the individual topic pages onto a single menu. My intention in creating it was to allow a user to reach his or her desired object in two clicks, first an instant, automatic redirect to the disambiguation page, and then to the user's choice of possible target articles.
- But your page move (intended, I'm sure, for the best of reasons) has introduced a completely unnecessary Redirect step to each of the articles. See, for example, what happens when you click Paris convention. The reader sees the Paris...(disambiguation) page, which then requires a completely unnecessary click onto the new Paris title, before being offered a choice of specific targets.
- Since I'm not skilled enough to undo your page move (and certainly don't want to change the redirect on all those individual pages), perhaps you could help?

Thanks for creating the dab page: I made the 2010 redirect, but it's a pity neither of the later creators of the Charles and Carlo articles bothered to think about navigation from the surname and turn that redirect into a dab page like this. Better late than never! (But, is there any indication that Ceppo, redirecting to the village of Ceppo Morelli, needs to be included? I don't see any mention of Ceppi as an alternative spelling. I see it's included in the dab page on Italian wiki, but there the Ceppo is a dab page with a lot of entries and I see that "Ceppi" is the plural of "Ceppo". No matter, and I'm not about to delete it, just curious why you included it.) PamD 16:41, 2 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Please stop your disruptive editing.
If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at Varennes, you may be blocked from editing. Please wait for the discussion on Talk:Varennes_(disambiguation)#Requested_move_23_September2023 completed and don't redierct Varennes to its disambiguation page per WP:MALPLACED. I can swap these pages when the consensus formed. NmWTfs85lXusaybq (talk) 10:44, 24 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
- @NmWTfs85lXusaybq: my edit is not distruptive. The page was moved in 2005 [5] because the page was created in 2003 with the wrong title [6] At that time, 20 years ago, the situation was different but now there are at least 7 pages, about small village like this one in France, with the same name as you can easily check in Varennes_(disambiguation)#France and not only, for example Varennes, Quebec, a place in Canada much bigger than the other ones. And also Special:WhatLinksHere/Varennes shows that not everything is about this village. Many link should redirect to Flight to Varennes. In other cases it's different. For example in Alfred Albert Martineau Varenne means Varennes, Dordogne, in 1747 in Canada it refers to Varennes, Quebec. Don't worry, I fixed them. Anyway it seems that for you is more important to write such threatening messages like the one here above than improve wikipedia. What a pity!... MrKeefeJohn (talk) 12:07, 24 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
- That's a warning template, not a threat. It doesn't matter if you have disambiguated the incoming links. I call it disruptive editing because it seems to me that you refuse to get the point. As I told you, it's inappropriate to redirect the base name to its disambiguation page per WP:MALPLACED, while you still undid my restoration twice. It's the duty of the ongoing discussion to obtain a consensus about the primary topic before the request move can be done or otherwise. NmWTfs85lXusaybq (talk) 12:49, 24 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
- What it seems to you it's different from what it seems to me. You can call my edit disruptive as well I can call you messagge threatening. Anyway I'm not here to discuss with you, I'll edit not edit Varennes anymore. MrKeefeJohn (talk) 12:53, 24 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi, and thanks for expanding Emile as a dab page. There's overlap at the moment with Emil (given name): how do you reckon we should split the two? Maybe move all the Emile and Émile entries from Emil to Emile, and link the new Emile dab from Emil? Or should they all be on one page? Wikishovel (talk) 18:22, 10 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
I think you’ve mixed up De Ranieris and Viales. Mccapra (talk) 07:09, 25 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

A tag has been placed on Montiano (disambiguation) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G14 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a disambiguation page which either
- disambiguates only one extant Wikipedia page and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic);
- disambiguates zero extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title; or
- is an orphaned redirect with a title ending in "(disambiguation)" that does not target a disambiguation page or page that has a disambiguation-like function.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.
