The onus is on every editor to check edit summaries when potentially reverting a previous edit, such as you did with mine. That said, thank you for the alternative source, which keeps everyone (US and Europe) happy. Ref (chew)(do) 17:22, 23 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
Your Baltimore/Boston booboo puts me in mind of what would be a mythical bridge spanning the length of Ireland from Dundalk to Baltimore, County Cork. Locally, the Maryland Dundalk is noted as one of Baltimore's less salubrious suburbs, especially now that the steel mill has vanished. Acroterion (talk) 22:47, 1 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
- :) Amusingly, Baltimore is still only 400 miles from Boston, so there's room for me to screw that article up on a similar scale too. MIDI (talk) 07:26, 2 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
- And there's always Boston, Lincolnshire. Acroterion (talk) 12:08, 2 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
- Too right – see my piped links ;) MIDI (talk) 12:41, 2 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Good evening. There is a suggestion that you might like to withdraw this nomination. Please read the comments there and reflect, thank you — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 22:31, 19 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hi MIDI: In 2010, you created this article, then removed the reference that have population and other details for it. I'm wondering whether Ngare Ndare Forest was what you'd read about; that's mentioned at Lewa Wildlife Conservancy as having been incorporated into it, but the coordinates don't seem to be within either the Conservancy or the Forest. There are a few tourist sources on the forest; for the farm, I can't find anything except some paintings: two by Robert F. Kuhn and one by William Powys, who is described as holding the land. And sources based on the Wikipedia article. Can you remember what led you to make an article on this as a settlement? Did you read something about artists working there, or about the history of the forest? Yngvadottir (talk) 07:51, 20 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
I see you haven't edited since I left this note, so you may not have seen it, but there's a follow-up. I was made aware of the article by a forum post at Wikipediocracy, and someone else has since pointed out there that you created hundreds of similar articles on settlements in Kenya over two days. I checked Ndarugu Farm and it's comparable: you created it with a population estimate from Fallingrain.com, then ran a bot to remove the unreliable source and the population derived from it, since when it has remained a one-line unreferenced stub. I appreciate that Wikipedia needs articles on places in under-represented countries, like Kenya. It hurts me to say this; but since the source you used was unreliable, as you realised yourself, and since the places with "Farm" in the name are unlikely to be actual settlements as opposed to landholdings, the entire group of articles you created from this source should probably be PRODded, except for any that have since had a reliable source added. If you don't object, I think I'll move Ngare Ndare Farm to Ngare Ndare Forest and rewrite it to save it. And presumably some of these places are actual villages and towns. But it seems they all need to be examined. Yngvadottir (talk) 22:40, 20 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
- No objections to you doing that – it was a long time ago so difficult to remember circumstances of the creation of these articles but it was evidently done in error (albeit with good intentions). No objection to WP:PROD where prods are due, nor rewriting pages to save them. Thanks for your diligence. MIDI (talk) 13:54, 22 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
- Farm to forest is done. Hopefully adequately referenced and clear enough. I see you've started checking some yourself and redirecting or PRODding in some cases. Thanks very much, it's a large block of articles. I don't fault your intentions at all, it's just a shame the source you found turned out to be unreliable. - Going through them manually is going to be too laborious; when I'm on a PC I can run WP:AWB and do the task quite easily. There's a few that have been constructively built upon that are good to keep (i.e. passing WP:GNG if not WP:NPLACE), but AWB will easily allow case-by-case review.
