Hello Jane023, noticing your latest edit, I was wondering if a chronological order of the works woud make sense. Thank you for your time. Lotje (talk) 05:31, 29 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
- I wondered the same thing, but considering the 1973 catalog lists over 1500 paintings in chronological order and since that time many more paintings have come to light, I think size and type is probably more interesting. Most of her work is still in private hands and the copyright is locked up, so for Wikipedia readers probably the best step is just to make items for all the works sold above USD 100,000 combined with everything in public collections - these tend to be mostly bequests, so that number will only grow. I think all her "bestseller" subjects should have at least three examples from different time periods though. The most expensive ones from what I gather are the large ones that seem filled up with specific cameo scenes and those only became possible with outside support for frames and paint, which occurred later, while many find her works from the early 1940s to be most charming. So to answer your question, I really don't know. The two lists at the bottom are both incomplete and a bit random. I was thinking of making a list for just the ones that served as Christmas cards, but I can't find a Hallmark or other card list (Brundage?). These seem to be the ones that pop up most frequently in searches (because the xmas cards enjoy a collector's value apparently). Jane (talk) 07:30, 29 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
- I get your point Jane. Looking at the paintings she made, I must say, I like them very much. A whole new exciting experience opening up to me. Thanks Jane
