NOTICE: No Few fragmented discussions
If you post on this talk page (starting a discussion or responding to a post of mine elsewhere), I will answer here (in most cases), not on your own talk page. Lately I have been making lots of exceptions to this rule... But I still don't like fragmented discussions.

Hello, I, too, noticed you are an experienced Wikipedian. I would like your help just walking me through the process of uploading and correctly labeling permissions for Non-free use album covers. Edit: Cheers, I found the recipe from a fellow mate in the Teahouse. Here's the process, just for others who might read this:
- To upload files use Special:Upload.
- Assuming you've got the image to hand you need to specify where to upload it from i.e. your computer and to give it a meaningful destination name.
- In the box that says Summary, copy and paste the information from the syntax section of {{Non-free use rationale album cover}}. Then insert the appropriate information - the only two parameters you must specify are
|Article=
to name the article you are going to use the image in and |Use=
where in the article you are going to use the image - normally this will be the infobox. All the other parameters are optional but I would change the parameter |Source=
to say exactly where you got the image from, if it's from the web the url you downloaded it from.
- Finally in the box called Licensing, from the drop down list select "Album or single cover" - this will add another message to the finished upload.
- Click on Upload file to finish the upload process.
- You must then go to the article you've named in the upload to add the image to that article as one of the fair use criteria is that the image is used in at least one article. If you don't do this step the image can be deleted as an orphan fair use file.
Hi, I see that you are an experienced wikipedian: and I just need to ask a couple questions:
1. How do you change the name of an article?
2. How do you create a 'userbox'?
Thank you, --Alegoo92 16:26, 10 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
I have no idea where to put this, but I got the PB 100 picture from google. I just checked again and it is not there...um?
Thanks again for all your help before and during the FAC: It's all greatly appreciated! As for what's next, I do hope to revamp NGE (there's a surfeit of secondary material in comparison to Excel Saga), but I want to finish up List of Excel Saga media and get that featured, too.--Monocrat 00:04, 22 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
I noticed you posted a request for some images of Apple computers in Commons. I happen to have a Graphite G4, a blue G3 and access to a Quicksilver G4. I guess I'll have to remember to take pictures of them. However, I have a few questions:
- What's wrong with the pictures that are there? They seemed okay to me.
- What types of shots do you want? I will probably be taking these with film, then scanning them in. It would help for me to know what types of images you want (i.e. side, top, front, back, inside, etc)
- I also have a Graphite Monitor. Do you want pics of that as well?
I also know of an old Quadra, but I'll have to take a look at it. It's sitting on a floor gathering dust in a room people rarely use, and I'm not sure of the condition.
If you could contact me on my user page here in en.wikipedia or you can send me an email at barista at gottahavacuppamocha dot com. If you do that, put wikipedia in the subject line to avoid my spam filters. I hope I can help out. --Barista | a/k/a マイケル | T/C 03:34, 14 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
Hallo grm_wnr,
Hi Grm wnr (is that Grammy Winner?)!!
I am going through the process of having Serial Experiments Lain featured (Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Serial Experiments Lain), and the article appears to be in dire need of copyediting. Monocrat told me how much you helped with the Excel Saga FAC, so I ws wondering if you might give a hand. If you don't have the time or interest, maybe you know an equally experienced wikipedian with copyediting skills that would have it? You can answer here as I'll be watching your talk page. Thanks in advance, --SidiLemine 19:00, 11 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

- A user who was creating such IDPs has now changed the text of the CSD and reverted all of the speedy tags, claiming that there was no consensus. I would very much appreciate if you could clarify your position. Amarkov upheld the reversion of CSD, but I believe that he was mislead by the claims that there was no discussion (i.e. our discussion). Unfortunately, it was his last action before logging off, so he hasn't yet responded to my request for clarification. TewfikTalk 18:20, 29 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for uploading Image:Applepedia.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 21:41, 10 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Autechrelp5.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Videmus Omnia Talk 00:52, 4 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Macintosh has been nominated for a featured article review. Articles are typically reviewed for two weeks. Please leave your comments and help us to return the article to featured quality. If concerns are not addressed during the review period, articles are moved onto the Featured Article Removal Candidates list for a further period, where editors may declare "Keep" or "Remove" the article from featured status. There have been a series of proposals to initiate a Featured List of the Day on the main page. Numerous proposals have been put forth. After the third one failed, I audited all WP:FL's in order to begin an experiment in my own user space that will hopefully get it going. Today, it commences at WP:LOTD. Afterwards I created my experimental page, a new proposal was set forth to do a featured list that is strikingly similar to my own which is to do a user page experimental featured list, but no format has been confirmed and mechanism set in place. I continue to be willing to do the experiment myself and with this posting it commences. Please submit any list that you would like to have considered for list of the day in the month of January 2008 by the end of this month to WP:LOTD and its subpages. You may submit multiple lists for consideration.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:LOTD) 17:27, 16 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
A tag has been placed on Template:XD4 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.
If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).

A discussion has begun about whether the article ACDSee, which you created or to which you contributed, should be deleted. While contributions are welcome, an article may be deleted if it is inconsistent with Wikipedia policies and guidelines for inclusion, explained in the deletion policy.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/ACDSee until a consensus is reached, and you are welcome to contribute to the discussion.
You may edit the article during the discussion, including to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Fleet Command (talk) 23:53, 2 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Following a community discussion in June 2011, consensus was reached to provisionally suspend the administrative privileges of users who have been inactive for one year, meaning administrators who have made neither any edits nor any logged actions in over one year. As a result of this discussion, your administrative privileges have been removed pending your return. If you wish to have these privileges reinstated, please post to the Wikipedia:Bureaucrats' noticeboard and the userright will be restored per the re-sysopping process (i.e., as long as the attending bureaucrats are reasonably satisfied that your account has not been compromised and that your inactivity did not have the effect of evading scrutiny of any actions which might have led to sanctions). This removal of access is procedural only, and not intended to reflect negatively upon you in any way. We wish you the best in future endeavors, and thank you for your past administrative efforts. The video will however not be freely available and would only be sent to teachers using the textbook. Hello. You are receiving this message because of a recent change to the administrator policy that alters what you were told at the time of your desysopping. The effect of the change is that you will not longer be able to request restoration of the tools because of your prior inactivity. You have until December 30, 2012 to request restoration or else the policy will prevent you from doing so in the future; you would need to seek a new WP:RFA. Until December 30, you can file a request at WP:BN for review by the crats. Thank you. MBisanz talk 04:22, 3 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
