Offseason

edit

The Rays finished the 2023 season 99–63, good enough for second place in the AL East. They would be eliminated by the eventual world series winning Texas Rangers in the 2023 American League Wild Card Series.

In a procedural move, shortstop Wander Franco was added back to the 40-man roster following the conclusion of the 2023 World Series following his stint on MLB's administrative leave.[1]

Roster departures

edit

On November 2, 2023, relief pitchers Chris Devenski, Jake Diekman, and Robert Stephenson elected free agency.

On November 4, 2023, the Rays placed Jalen Beeks, Christian Bethancourt, Josh Fleming, Tristan Gray, Raimel Tapia, and Cole Sulser on outright waivers.[2]
