Tournament names[edit]

I noticed a revert by you on a couple tennis articles today. You have a point on the WTA Tour Championships since it is the title of the heading, but you can't just link the city. It should be unlinked or per guidelines I think it should have the actual tournament name. In the other tables we must have the non-sponsored tournament name directly linked. Also we do not put number 1's for the first tournament victory, we start with number 2. Thanks. Fyunck(click) (talk) 23:04, 17 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Wozniacki[edit]

12 tournaments (by surfaces) are missing from the total sum by surfaces in "Career Statistic" subsection of the table, but I don't know on which surfaces she played which tournament out of those 12. So, total is OK, but in totals by surfaces something is missing. It seems that, in the past few months, whoever was updating the article, he didn't update every single number regularly and so there are discrepancies here. I edit this (part of) article on BS Wiki using the data from EN Wiki and I noticed this issue by purely calculating numbers. And I saw that you were last who edited the article here, so I decided to inform you. -- KWiki (talk) 16:18, 22 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, thanks for informing. I'll try to pay attention on it. Arbeit10 (talk) 10:06, 31 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Consistency on final brackets[edit]

Hi, ArbeitTen. I saw you have undone my changes on tennis final brackets. A solution may be i.e. covering the Grand Slam singles events with the final brackets beginning with the 4th rounds. But, is there any policy about the matter?

Del Potro or del Potro[edit]

In the main article it's del Potro but in the Federer article you want to change it to Del Potro. Per this ATP article it's del Potro and also this ATP article. Also this magazine and the Washington Post. And per the Chicago Manual of Style "English Names with Particles" and also for Non-English Names, under which is the subheading "Italian, Portugese, German, and Dutch Names". Under that, we read:

  • "Particles . . . are lower-cased and are usually dropped when the surname is used alone"

another English grammar source tells us the correct sentences are

  • The de Gennarros are coming to dinner this evening.
  • An often-encountered Italian surname is "de Gennarro." Fyunck(click) (talk) 22:53, 3 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Didn't watch Juan Martin's article. Anyway, thanks. Arbeit10 (talk) 20:17, 16 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for May 20[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Ashleigh Barty career statistics, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Italian Open (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Russian/Belarus flags[edit]

For tennis Russian/Belarus flag icons we use flagicon| . We do not add the word blank because that creates a white flag outline when in fact they have no flag whatsoever. Just an fyi... thanks. Fyunck(click) (talk) 21:56, 19 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the clarification, Fyunck. Arbeit10 (talk) 22:56, 28 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
