User:BU RoBOT/Task 32

This bot task reviews non-free use images. If the non-free use images contain certain non-free use rationale templates with sufficient information in the mandatory fields, it will mark them as having a rationale for the purpose of categorizing them in Category:Non-free images with NFUR stated.

Caution: Note that the bot can assess the presence of a non-free use rationale and ensure the rationale contains at least some information, but it cannot assess the accuracy of the rationale or whether it meets our non-free content criteria. All files in Category:Non-free images with NFUR stated (bot-assessed) have been assessed by a bot, but they should be reviewed by human editors as time permits to verify that they're being used in a manner consistent with policy and copyright law.

Human review[edit]

Human review is encouraged! Please verify that the non-free use rationales fully comply with the non-free content criteria. If they do not, either fix them or nominate for WP:FFD. If they do, remove the "auto = yes" parameter to remove the file from the category for bot-assessed files.

Details[edit]

Below is a list of templates the bot is currently designed to check and exactly what it reviews them for. Note that the bot is only capable of reviewing in the affirmative; files that do not meet the bot's criteria for review will remain in Category:Wikipedia non-free files for NFUR review for assessment by human editors. This will expand as the bot is further developed. If you are wondering why the bot reviewed or didn't review a file, please search for the relevant non-free use rationale template below and check the criteria for review.

Common requirements[edit]

All reviewed files must be in use on only one article and contain a wikilink to that article on the file description page.

Template:Non-free use rationale logo[edit]

If all of the following are true:

1. The "Article" parameter contains some content.
2. The "Use" parameter contains one of the appropriate values (Infobox / Org / Brand / Product / Public facility / Other)

Then:

1. {{Non-free logo}} is updated to include "image has rationale = yes" and "auto = yes".
2. {{Non-free school logo}} is updated to include "image has rationale = yes" and "auto = yes".

Template:Non-free use rationale poster[edit]

If all of the following are true:

1. The "Article" parameter contains some content.
2. The "Use" parameter contains one of the appropriate values (Infobox / Section / Header / Other)

Then:

1. {{Non-free poster}} is updated to include "image has rationale = yes" and "auto = yes".

Template:Non-free use rationale album cover[edit]

If all of the following are true:

1. The "Article" parameter contains some content.
2. The "Use" parameter contains one of the appropriate values (Infobox / Header / Artist / other)

Then:

1. {{Non-free album cover}} is updated to include "image has rationale = yes" and "auto = yes".

Template:Non-free use rationale video game cover[edit]

If all of the following are true:

1. The "Article" parameter contains some content.
2. The "Use" parameter contains one of the appropriate values (Infobox / Header / Section / Artist / other)

Then:

1. {{Non-free album cover}} is updated to include "image has rationale = yes" and "auto = yes".

Template:Non-free use rationale 2[edit]

If all of the following are true:

1. The "Description" parameter contains at least 10 characters.
2. The "Source" parameter contains at least 5 characters.
3. The "Article" parameter contains some content.
4. The "Purpose" parameter contains at least 10 characters.
5. The "Replaceability" parameter contains some content.
6. The "Minimality" parameter contains at least 5 characters.
7. The "Commercial" parameter contains some content.

Then:

1. {{Non-free logo}} is updated to include "image has rationale = yes" and "auto = yes".
2. {{Non-free school logo}} is updated to include "image has rationale = yes" and "auto = yes".
3. {{Non-free album cover}} is updated to include "image has rationale = yes" and "auto = yes".

Note: Author isn't considered for logos because the author is unimportant to determining the copyright holder, which is associated with whatever company/product the logo represents. Replaceability and respect for commercial opportunities are trivial for logos, as they aren't replaceable and do not harm commercial use when reproduced minimally on an article, so I only check to ensure something (even n/a) is in the field.
