It instead froze his thoughts in place, like an ideology, which is a mistake when analyzing the very dynamic Malcolm. Indeed, he did think that white activists should have their own separate organizations rather than joining his while he was a minister with the segregationist Nation of Islam in 1952-1964. However, he changed this view after his break with the NoI in... Tags: Mobile edit Mobile web edit

(There is a series of YouTube vids available about its ongoing restoration.) You do have a Wikipedia entry for Fantasy of Flight, so that should be hyperlinked here where I mentioned their name, but I wasn’t sure how to do that. I was able to add a footnote that takes you to a page about the plane’s current restoration. Perhaps one of your staff ca... Tags: Mobile edit Mobile web edit

The crew put in new spark plugs after they returned to Oakland. (How could a radial engine function with actual missing cylinders, lol?) Anyhoo, the meaning sounded confused before, like the cylinders were gone from the engine, so I reworded it to make it clearer. Tags: Mobile edit Mobile web edit

After all, it was a French film, so its French reception should be more central than the US response. (Melville’s films did not do well in the USA upon release, but their stature among American cinephiles has increased tremendously in the ensuing decades.) Tags: Mobile edit Mobile web edit

This seemed distorted toward an American perspective only, so I added the fact that the movie garnered excellent reviews in its home country. Tags: Mobile edit Mobile web edit

  • 09:4409:44, 8 November 2019 diff hist 0 Battle of MaguagaThe battlefield is in Riverview, not Wyandotte. This is clearly indicated by the National Park Service publication Driving Tour, Great Lakes Theater of the War of 1812: Journey Towards Understanding (2018). You can also do an overlay of Col. John Anderson’s 1817 map at the Monroe (MI) Historical Museum onto a modern map and see that the battlefield is in Riverview. The historical marker for the battle is in Trenton, about two miles south of the actual location. Tags: Mobile edit Mobile web edit

While the state historical marker for the battle is in Trenton, the site of the actual fight is about a mile north of the marker in the small community of Riverview. This is confirmed by the National Park Service at River Raisin Nat’l. Battlefield Park in Monroe, MI, who have an exhibit on Monguagon and a driving guide they sell that both clearly mark the Monguagon battle site as being in Riverview.
