It offers two 2-year full-time programs: a Professional Theatre Workshop, and a Professional Musical Theatre Workshop. The musical theatre program is unique in that it's identical to the acting program, except for additional musical classes. There is also an option to earn a joint BFA in Theatre or Musical Theatre with Eckerd College in Florida.

In 2020, a large group of Alumni from Circle in the Square Theatre School created a campaign called '' Circle of Inequity'' to publicly confront the school for various sex crimes against students and even minors. Over 40 stories of abuse have been published involving sexual misconduct involving teachers, sex-based discrimination, racism, and abuse of power. Although the school's president has issued an apology, the school continues to use NDA's (nondisclosure agreements) and confidentiality agreements against students to silence abuse at the school and cover up wrongdoings. It's been reported that students feel threatened to sign these agreements as the school also has a known problem with retaliation. These events have all been reported in a public setting and on YouTube by the students.

Additionally, Circle offers seven-week summer intensives for acting and musical theatre students.
