The 1995–96 Coupe de la Ligue began on 23 August 1995 and the final took place on 6 April 1996 at the Stade de France. Paris Saint-Germain were the defending champions, but were knocked-out by Guingamp in the Second round. Metz went on to win the tournament, beating Lyon 5–4 on penalties in the final.[1]
