Vand Chhako
In Sikhism Vaṇḍ Chakkō (Punjabi: ਵੰਡ ਛੱਕੋ) is a technique and method which means share it as you consume it. This could be wealth, food. etc. This is one of the three major Sikhism technique and methods. The sikh rehat maryada (code of conduct) emphasises on these as: "kirt karo" which means To work hard in order to earn your living. This indicates that a sikh MUST earn his living by his own legitimate means. Thus, it prohibits sikhs from indulging into any illegal activity as well as begging or living on state benefits (apart from the circumstances when you are unable to work) The second one says "naam japo" which means to meditate and remember the name of God/Waheguru at all times. This means that a sikh is supposed to have God as an integral part of his/her life, with every breath; a sikh is meant to thank God for Its blessings and also remember God in order to refrain from any activity that is illegal, illicit or that hurts,harms or cheats anyone. And the final one "wand kay shako" which has been explained earlier. The slogan goes as: kirt karo, naam japo, wand ke shako!
