Rapid AfD after questionable edits

Hi, Rosie! Ipigott suggested I reach out to you.

I'm hoping to appeal an AfD of the Rhonda Patrick page. Unfortunately, everyone that voted in favor of the AfD going through was ultimately voting on a page that had already been defaced by a number of highly questionable (e.g. inappropriate IMO) edits that made the page, in my opinion, lower quality. I had noticed these on the page prior to the AfD but, rather than simply reverse the edits, I was hoping to appeal to the editor directly with a composed rebuttal of the edits. When I finally found the time, it had already been deleted. This is very regrettable since the edits removed mention of Patrick's contributions in her field and also media references to her work! To have an AfD vote on the article after its best claim to WP:NOTABILITY was clumsily removed is not fair, in my opinion. I don't know if there's any recourse at this point. It's not my desire to push my will on the Wikipedian community, but I do think the AfD vote was undermined by these edits and that some of the delete votes were probably without awareness of these changes. The fact of the matter is that the defacement occurred so rapidly before the AfD, I almost feel (mistakenly or not) they were created with the intent of damaging WP:NOTABILITY criteria for the subsequent AfD. I will concede the possibility of a misinterpretation on my part, however.

I posted a more thorough breakdown of the situation on the admin's talk page that approved the recent AfD, but haven't received a reply from him or her.

Either way... thanks for your consideration. Snazzywiki (talk) 19:55, 24 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Need sources?

I noticed that you're waiting on approval for access to JSTOR at the Wikipedia Library. JSTOR currently has a waitlist due to lack of available accounts. In the meantime, the Resource Exchange can help! We connect content creators with reliable sources. If you need a specific article or passage from a book that you don't have access to, drop by and leave a request. We're happy to help you access paywalled and print sources to the extent allowable by copyright law. Please let me know if you have any questions. ~ Rob13Talk 03:17, 9 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Frieda Fraser

On 20 June 2017, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Frieda Fraser, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Frieda Fraser and Edith Williams corresponded for 24 years before they were able to acquire a home to live together in 1941? You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Frieda Fraser), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Hi SusunW, as I made only one edit on this article, I don't feel comfortable being credited for DYK so I won't add it to my list. BTW, the article is amazing. Kudos! --Rosiestep (talk) 15:48, 21 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Your relationship to Keliana prompted me to contact you both to help with the medical jargon and my confusion with her scientific works. Had it not been for that, I would not have been able to sort it out. Help doesn't always come in the form of editing. Support and networking is just as important to an article's development, IMO. You can "uncredit" yourself if you wish, but I won't. I appreciate your help and support more than I could ever express. SusunW (talk) 16:02, 21 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
SusunW, how lucky I am to call you a friend! And in this light, I am proud for the credit. Thank you! --Rosiestep (talk) 16:06, 21 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Seeking Women in Red Help

Thank you, Rosiestep, for your amazing support of women on Wikipedia! A page that was restored by the Women in Red Project. is in urgent need of an experienced wiki editor to champion it. Unfortunately, a singular editor has made it his mission to undermine the page, and has marked the page for re-deletion. Sending this note in the hopes that you will join the conversation, and give a valuable woman’s voice a chance. Here is the page link. Thanks for all the good you do! "A-voice-for-women" has posted similar messages asking for support to seven user talk pages. She is a new editor, and therefore presumably didn't know that this was contrary to Wikipedia:Canvassing, so I have posted to her talk page to let her know. Hi A-voice-for-women, and thank you for reaching out to me regarding the Kim Chestney page. Generally speaking, I don't work on biographies of living people which is why I'd be uncomfortable working on this page, but there are a lot of page stalkers who keep an eye on my talkpage, and maybe some of them will have time/inclination to assist. I don't want this reply to be discouraging -I want to be encouraging- so let me finish up by saying, please keep editing and understand that I am supportive of you, even if I take a pass on this particular article.
Hi JamesBWatson, and thanks for stopping by. --Rosiestep (talk) 23:17, 28 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
