Greetings, my name is Harry Mitchell, my username is HJ Mitchell and most people call me Harry or HJ for brevity.

I'm an administrator here, but unless you're a vandal, or you deal with vandals, you're unlikely to encounter me in that capacity. At the minute (and it changes with my mood), I divide most of my time between dealing with vandals and spammers, and writing and reviewing. I also dabble in copy-editing—obviously I'm best with "British English", but I can cope with American English and other varieties. I tend to stick to biographies, but I make the odd exception for a particularly interesting article. Otherwise, I can often be found loitering around the Main Page—particularly the In the news section—and the Military History Wikiproject.

I've been here since March 2009. I started because I was enticed by the idea that I could edit, and I stick around because I want to help make the encyclopaedia, and the project, even better than it already is, and because Wikipedians are some of the most remarkable people I've ever come across. But during my tenure, I've been around the block a few times, so feel free to ask for help—if I can't help you, there's a good chance I'll know who can.

The Admin's Barnstar
I don't always agree with every single thing you say, but I wanted to register my appreciation of the degree of hard work you do and the ethical nature of the (voluntary) work you do in helping administer this project in such a conscientious way. Please keep up the good work, and take this as a well-earned tip of the hat to you. John (talk) 02:40, 29 October 2011 (UTC)
The Real Life Barnstar
Hi Harry, you deserve one of these yourself for your role making the Manchester Girl Geeks Wikipedia Editing Day a success. Events like this are of great importance both to the community and to the UK chapter. Cheers, MartinPoulter (talk) 14:32, 16 November 2011 (UTC)
