Initials AKM[edit]

What do the initials AKM stand for in a Bangladeshi name? Intelligent Mr Toad (talk) 01:23, 14 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The initials 'AKM' or more properly 'A.K.M.' may or can stand for any three proper names before a male Muslim person's surname or last name. Such initials are never applicable in the case of women. Just as an example: A particular AKM may have the names Abul Kalam Mosharraf (Hossain) or Abul Kashem Mohammed (Abdullah). In this kind of initials the first initial 'A' will always stand for 'Abul' which is a form of 'Abdul' or more properly the Arabic 'Abd'el' meaning 'of Allah.' Hope this helps even if 3 years late.
