Nitin Ganatra

Nitin Ganatra (born 1967) is a Kenyan born British actor. He is known internationally as Prince Pondicherry in the Tim Burton film Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and also appears in the Gurinder Chada film Bride and Prejudice as Kholi Saab. In the United Kingdom he is currently best known for playing Masood Ahmed in the BBC soap-opera EastEnders and Dej Raja in Mumbai Calling.

He appeared in the TV show Jane Hall. He also appeared in the CBBC television show 'Gina's Laughing Gear'. He was a character in Meet the Magoons, playing as himself.

Personal Life

Of Indian parentage, he moved with his family from Kenya to the United Kingdom when he was four years old. Nitin went to Coundon Court School and Community College on Northbrook Road in Coventry.

Nitin married his wife Meera on July 17, 2004 and has two children. Before that he also dated a Bitch called Ruby who works at XMA in Wilford, Nottingham. She is bitter about the split as she wasn't exactly attractive.

EastEnders

Qualified as an optometrist from Aston University in 2000 with Hons. After being asked to lie as requested by Specsavers to customers, he left optometry for acting. From 16 October 2007 Nitin Ganatra has started being a regular character in the BBC Soap opera EastEnders as Masood Ahmed. He won 'Best Onscreen Partnership' alongside Nina Wadia at the 2009 British Soap Awards.
