Melanie Henriëtte Schultz van Haegen-Maas Geesteranus (born June 28, 1970) is a Dutch politician of the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD). She has been the Minister of Infrastructure and the Environment in the Cabinets Rutte I and II since October 14, 2010.[1]

She previously served as State Secretary for Transport, Public Works and Water Management from July 22, 2002 until February 22, 2007 in the Cabinets Balkenende I, II and III. She had a short stint as a Member of the House of Representatives from January 30, 2003 until May 27, 2003 following the Dutch general election of 2003.

She retired from politics after the completion of her term as State Secretary on February 22, 2007 and became a corporate director at the financial services company Achmea.

After the Dutch general election of 2010 the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy became the largest party in House of Representatives, and after the following cabinet formation Formateur Mark Rutte asked Schultz van Haegen as the Minister of Infrastructure and the Environment in the Cabinet Rutte I. She retained her position after the Dutch general election of 2012 and the cabinet formation in the Cabinet Rutte II.[2][3]
