Meaning of "sax" in the Italian dictionary

The saxophone, saxophone, or, simply, sax is a simple aerofoam musical instrument. The saxophone is inserted into the wood family since, despite the body of the instrument being normally of metal, it has among its ancestors the flute and the clarinet from which it inherited the structure but not the material. The sound emission is caused by the vibration of an anchovy, made from common cane. The length of the vibrating air column is changed through holes on the body of the instrument. It was invented by Adolphe Sax in 1841 and patented on June 22, 1846. It had a great and fast expansion in many musical genres thanks to its expressive and flexible talents. In general, the sax family is present in almost all modern music genres: even the recent trend towards synthetic and sampled music has only overlooked its popularity. Because of its recent invention, in classical music the saxophone is somewhat penalized by limited literature, but it is still present, even with prominent roles, in symphony orchestras. Il sassofono è inserito nella famiglia dei legni poiché, nonostante il corpo dello strumento sia normalmente di metallo, ha tra i suoi antenati il flauto ed il clarinetto da cui ha ereditato la struttura ma non il materiale. L'emissione del suono è provocata dalla vibrazione di un'ancia, ricavata da canna comune. La lunghezza della colonna d'aria vibrante viene modificata attraverso dei fori sul corpo dello strumento. Fu inventato da Adolphe Sax nel 1841 e brevettato il 22 giugno del 1846. Ha avuto una grandissima e veloce espansione in moltissimi generi musicali grazie alle sue doti di espressività e duttilità. In generale la famiglia dei sax è presente in quasi tutti i generi musicali moderni: anche la recente tendenza verso la musica sintetica e campionata ha solo scalfito la sua popolarità. A causa della sua recente invenzione, nella musica classica il sassofono è un po' penalizzato dalla limitata letteratura, ma è tuttavia presente, anche con ruoli di rilievo, nelle orchestre sinfoniche.
