Meaning of "balar" in the Spanish dictionary

Balar or Balor, is the Irish name of a personage of the Celtic mythology. It belonged to the race of gods called the Fomoré. He had one eye on the forehead and another on the back of the skull, which was malignant and usually kept closed. When he opened it, his gaze was mortal to the one in whom he had fixed it. That look was lightning. Balar was the one who killed the king of the Tuatha Dé Dannan, Nuada, during the Battle of Magh Tuiredh. Lug, wanting to avenge Nuada, approached Balar. Realizing that Lug was approaching, he tried to open it again. But Lug was faster, he threw a stone with his wave, which hit the evil eye, piercing his skull. Balar fell dead at once.
