Additionally, the Recharge name was applied to all-electric vehicles at Volvo in an on-again-off-again fashion over the past few model years.

Since the platform has had no significant changes since then, it suggests this 2025 iteration would perform equally.

Consumer Reports has yet to road test the V60, despite it being on sale in its current form for the better part of half a decade. Whilst no score exists for an overall test, the outlet does predict a three-of-five rating for predicted reliability based on feedback from real world owners and the performance of other models from the Volvo brand.

The cabin of this wagon bears all the hallmarks of Swedish minimalism, like an IKEA store on wheels. As with most vehicles, a large tablet in portrait orientation dominates the centre stack but here it is bookended by a pair of enormous ventilation registers and the distinct lack of redundant buttons. A crystal-look shifter jazzes up the sombre space and, in a fit of what must pass for humour in Sweden, one twists a square(ish) knob on the console in order to start the car.

Length checks in at 4,778 millimetres, putting it a solid 150 mm longer than the popular yardstick that is the Honda CR-V. Of course, its roof is lower to the ground than that vehicle, at 1,427mm though width is also similar at 1,850 mm not counting its side mirrors. Inside, there is 471 litres of cargo space with both rows of seats in place or a yawning 1,431 litres when the back seat is folded away.

The sole option is a choice of four paint shades off the greyscale, all at no charge.
