70 years of the Court of Justice of the European Union
In 2022, the Court of Justice of the European Union celebrated its 70th anniversary. To mark the occasion, a number of events were held throughout the year, including the Meeting of Judges devoted to the theme of ‘Bringing justice closer to the citizen’, a formal sitting and the issuing of a commemorative stamp.
The conference proceedings, including contributions from attendees at the special Meeting of Judges and addresses delivered at the formal sitting, have been published (in English and French).
In addition, the film ‘70 years of the Court of Justice of the European Union’ was made, with the involvement of Members of the Court and experts in EU law.
Finally, the Association of Former Members of the Courts of the European Union published the book ‘Testimonies of former Members of the Court of Justice of the European Union on the occasion of the Court's 70th anniversary ’, tracing the institution’s 70-year history (in English and French).
