English: Motte and bailey in Erddig grounds. mentioned 1st in 1161. Built by the English (known at that time as 'Normans' in their attempt to conquer the Nation of Wales. This failed miserably, and the country of Wales still exists, as does the people of Wales. Three quarters of a million people still speak the language of Wales, Welsh.
