LONG BEACH NEWS NOTES

LONG BEACH, Jan. 30—John F. Craig, who has been in the east for several weeks securing material and skilled labor for a shipbuilding plant, is expected to arrive here tomorrow. Two large barges, one for oil and the other for water, are being built in the harbor for the Western Marine Dredging company's use. George B. sEarley, chairman of a chamber of commerce committee, and Prof. J. D. Graham, superintendent of the public schools, will go to Los Angeles tomorrow to secure information of the cost of equipment for the proposed polytechnic school here. They will report at the mass meeting which is to be held at the auditorium next Thursday night.
