State Water Supply Commission So Claims in Fifth Annual Report

ALBANY, N. V., Jan. 30.—New.York distances all other states in the gross total of hydraulic power In use, according to the fifth annual report lof the state water supply commission. ' The commission estimates that 1,---500,000 horse-power can'be developed on interior streams of New York, without counting Niagara and St. Lawrence rivers.! • ' ;".-. V .■•

It says this great reserve, of power,' equal to nearly a third of all the water power in use in the United States, is sufficient to displace all power now derived from coal and to provide „_ the state with all the motive power. it will need for as many years :as > one can foresee.
