The South Carolina Legislative Audit Council Director is a legislative position in the South Carolina state government.
The audit council director is appointed by board members and serves four-year terms. The board consists of five public members and four legislative members. The Legislative Audit Council is composed of both the director and the board, which serves as the oversight agency for the South Carolina General Assembly. The council is responsible for performing independent, objective performance audits of state operations.[1]
Current officeholder
The current director of the South Carolina Legislative Audit Council is K. Earle Powell. Powell assumed the position on January 12, 2015, replacing Perry Simpson, who retired.[2]
