Mangelli ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. Senate, representing New York. He was a Common Sense Party candidate and faced incumbent Kirsten Gillibrand (D), Wendy Long (R), Colia Clark (G) and Chris Edes (L) in the general election on November 6, 2012.[2] Gillibrand won.[1]
