John Doak was the 12th Oklahoma commissioner of insurance from 2011 to 2019. A Republican, he was first elected to the position on November 2, 2010 and assumed office on January 10, 2011.

Doak ran for re-election without opposition in the 2014 elections. The general election took place on November 4, 2014. John Doak won the general election on November 4, 2014, without opposition.

Biography

Following his graduation from the University of Oklahoma, Doak started a branch of the Farmers Insurance Group in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He went on to work as an insurance executive, including in corporate positions at Marsh, Aon Risk Services, HNI Risk Services and Ascension Insurance. He previously served as a member of the Oklahoma Governor’s Round Table for Business Development.[1]

Doak ran for re-election to the office of Oklahoma Commissioner of Insurance. Doak won the Republican nomination in the primary and faced no opposition from other parties.[2] The general election took place on November 4, 2014.
