On their shared campaign website, Fuentes, Gilbert Wilson, and Sen. Donald Norcross listed five major themes of their campaign:[3]
- Relieving the tax burden on property owners.
- Cutting wasteful government spending.
- Consolidating government functions through shared services among municipalities, counties and schools boards.
- Adopting reforms that reduce the costs to taxpayers for public employee benefits, including pensions and health care.
- Providing quality public schools, in part by forcing tax money to go toward classrooms and school facilities – not toward excessive salaries and perks for administrators.
2011
In an interview with the Gloucester County Times, Fuentes listed his top priorities:
- "Getting our residents back to work is my first priority. We must make it easier for businesses to operate, which will encourage them to invest and create jobs, and in turn, make New Jersey more affordable. I will fight to restore tax breaks for working families and seniors and oppose tax breaks for multi-millionaires. I also will explore new options to reform our education system so that every student in New Jersey has access to a high quality education."[4]

Elections for the New Jersey General Assembly took place in 2015. A primary election was held on June 2, 2015. The general election took place on November 3, 2015. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 30, 2015.[5] Since the general assembly uses multi-member districts, the top two candidates from each party in the primaries advanced to the general election. Incumbent Angel Fuentes and Marianne Holly Cass were bracketed together and were unopposed in the Democratic primary. Kevin Ehret and Ralph Williams were bracketed together and were unopposed in the Republican primary. Incumbent Fuentes resigned from the General Assembly and Cass withdrew from the race after the Democratic primary. The two were replaced by Patricia Egan Jones and Arthur Barclay.[6] Williams did not appear on the official candidate list for the general election; he was replaced by Keith A. Walker.[7] Jones and Barclay defeated Ehret and Walker in the general election.[8][9][10][11][12][13][14]

Scorecards

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.
Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
