Charles Casper Simons (1876-1964) was a federal judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. Simons died on February 2, 1964.
Simons was nominated by President Herbert Hoover on January 8, 1932 to replace Arthur Carter Denison. He was confirmed by the Senate on January 26th, and received commission on January 29th. From 1952 to 1958, he was the chief judge. On September 15, 1959, he assumed senior status, and continued to serve in this capacity until his death on February 2, 1964.[1]
Simons was nominated by President Warren Harding on January 31, 1923 to fill the seat created by 42 Stat. 837. He was confirmed by the Senate on February 6, 1923, and received commission that same day. He served on this court until February 2, 1932, when he was appointed to the Sixth Circuit.[1] Simons was succeeded in this position by Arthur Lederle.
