The Usha George Students-in-Action Award has been established in recognition of Usha George, former Dean of the Faculty of Community Services, for her active commitment to student engagement, learning opportunities beyond the classroom and social innovation.
Full-time and part-time undergraduate students can apply for project funding for a student-led initiative that addresses a social issue in the local/global community. Examples may include launching a campaign, organizing an event, hosting a lecture, facilitating a workshop, or executing a project. Innovation and creativity are encouraged! Students may apply as a group, however, one student will submit the application and be responsible for managing their funding and any other requirements of this award.
