Coastal flooding along roads in Hancock County as a result of tropical storm

The first tropical storm of the season has caused coastal flooding in Hancock County.

Areas of Coastal Mississippi have been under minor flooding since Monday afternoon, especially in Hancock County.

The overall wind flow, which has been predominantly out of the East, has been pushing a lot of water up against the almost perpendicular coastline of Hancock County.

This wind flow is due to the rotation caused by the first tropical storm of the season.

A coastal flood advisory has been in effect since Monday, it was then upgraded to a warning yesterday for Hancock County. These low-lying areas will continue to have flooding issues through Thursday evening before the water retreats.
