West Harrison alum Brandon Parker’s family and friends “go fishing” for his most recent home run ball!

Now here’s something you don’t see every day, but we definitely wish we did.

Former West Harrison and Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College baseball player Brandon Parker was drafted by the Braves in 2019 and he is still going strong.

The athletic genes in the Parker family run quite deep with younger brother Tate Parker clinching the World Series title with PRCC’s ball club in 2022, being named the NJCAA Division II Player of the Year and playing at Southern Miss the following season, younger sisters Daisy and Molly Parker winning National Cheer titles at West Harrison High School, and younger brother Reese Parker already hitting bombs in the 13U division games.

Athleticism isn’t the only quality that the Parker family possesses because they also know how to work a casting net.

Currently suiting up for the Mississippi Braves, Brandon Parker enters the box against the Blue Wahoos on Saturday and absolutely blasts one out of the stadium and into the Pensacola Bay. If that wasn’t exciting enough, his cousin, nephew, and friend wanted to make sure the moment would last.

They borrow a fisherman’s net and cast it into the bay with hopes of catching the homer evidence. After a few tries and fish later, they reeled the home run ball!

Congratulations to the Parker family and friends on their success, and best of luck to Brandon as he continues his impressive baseball career.
