Senior copy editor

Darren Ridgley grew up shooting the breeze in Killarney, Man.

After countless spirited conversations about the issues of the day over cups of bad diner coffee, he travelled to the bright lights of Winnipeg to pursue a career in journalism.

He now contributes his opinions as a member of the Free Press‘s adjunct editorial board, over cups of better, boutique coffee.

A lifelong fan of the strange and fantastic, he is a published author of genre fiction, appearing in several anthologies and magazines from here to the U.K.

He co-edited a pair of anthologies, Parallel Prairies and Alternative Plains, which feature fantasy, sci-fi and horror tales from Prairie writers.

He lives and writes in Winnipeg with his wife, their two children and two dogs.
