GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — This week’s featured adoptable dogs from the Kent County Animal Shelter are an outgoing guy and a timid girl who has been at the shelter for a whole year.

Thursday marked one year since Misha, a 5-year-old American Staffordshire terrier, came to the animal shelter.

Shelter director Angela Hollinshead was concerned about how Misha would do in the new and busy environment of the TV studio, so she and Misha instead joined News 8 on Friday via Zoom from Hollinshead’s office.

“She is a sweet girl. And she is big and she can be intimidating-looking, but she’s actually kind of a scaredy-dog,” Hollinshead said. “As much as we love and take great care of her, she is ready for a home.”

Misha gave Hollinshead kisses and happily accepted treats and pats during the interview.

Misha would do best in a home without any other dogs and without any cats.

“We call her the queen,” Hollinshead joked.

If you’re looking for a more active and energetic dog, you could choose Beans, a 3-year-old English pointer mix. Beans is very social and outgoing, the shelter said. He enjoys going for walks and snuggling on the couch.
