The Arizona Cardinals signed defensive end Calais Campbell to a five-year contract. Campbell was franchised by the club this offseason and had not reported to voluntary offseason workouts. Both sides had been working toward a deal in recent weeks, culminating in the club's announcement Thursday that he is now locked up through 2016. Via @AdamSchefter:
Arizona Cardinals announced that the team has agreed to terms on a five-year contract with DE Calais Campbell. Look for monster deal.

Campbell had a career-high eight sacks in 2011, his fourth season in the league since joining Arizona from the University of Miami, where he was a highly-touted prospect but failed to reach his potential. He's an extremely tall rush end, fitting perfectly in the 3-4 scheme the Cardinals utilize on defense.
