Reporter

Responsibilities

Developing sources and breaking stories is what it’s all about, you MUST be able to demonstrate how you aggressively pursue relevant stories and develop exclusive content.  You must be great at incorporating digital/social media content with all your stories too.  The successful candidate must have strong LIVE reporting skills and the ability to communicate complex stories that our viewers can understand and use to better their lives!! You have to be a people person who can work in a TEAM environment!

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field with a minimum 3 years reporting experience in a commercial television news operation.  You must have a passion for storytelling and come to our editorial meetings with great story ideas!  You’ll need to exhibit strong on-air skills both in the field and in studio.  You must strive for excellence in everything and relentlessly pursue your stories with passion and determination.

Meteorologist

FOX6 News is seeking a passionate, dynamic meteorologist to join the state’s top weather team.  You should be able to comfortably move from forecasting blizzards to severe thunderstorms without missing a beat….sometimes in the same week!  We have a state-of-the-art weather office full of HD weather graphics, live HD Doppler radar, a beautiful outdoor weather deck and plenty of other high-tech gear to assist in your forecasting.  We have all the tools; we just need the right meteorologist!  FOX offers employees great benefits, including a generous time off and 401k package and what our employees call the best healthcare insurance in the industry.  

Responsibilities

You need to do it all: television, online, social networking and community outreach.  The person we’re looking for will work all shifts, including morning newscasts where a dynamic personality is an absolute must. You must be able to forecast and cover severe weather. We’re seeking a great storyteller who uses all the technology to create lively, compelling weather segments, on-air and online. 

Qualifications

An AMS or NWA sealed meteorologist with at least 2 years on-air experience is preferred. You must have a 4 year college degree.  Strong live broadcast and reporting skills are required. Knowledgeable of social media platforms and connected TV apps is huge plus!

Weekend Anchor/Weekday Reporter

FOX6 News is seeking a Weekend Anchor / Weekday Reporter to join our team!  The ideal candidate will take command on the desk and engage viewers with their smooth delivery and sparkling personality!  Anchoring is only one portion of the job.  Other days the responsibilities pivot to an enterprising journalist, sniffing out the biggest stories and beating the competition to breaking news.  In return, FOX provides a stellar benefits package including generous paid time off, 401k package and what our employees refer to as the best medical coverage.   

Responsibilities

You must be energetic and comfortable on the desk. You need to develop sources and have a passion for breaking news. You must be an engaging communicator who can connect with viewers! Great writing and storytelling skills along with the desire to be excellent in everything you do is a must!  You will collaborate with the Assignment Desk, Producers, Photojournalists and Editors to create compelling newscasts and unique reports.  Accuracy and urgency are a must. And social media skills are expected to attract, inform, and engage the community.    

Qualifications

Live reporting skills and a minimum of 5 years of news experience is required. College degree in Journalism or related field required. Being a team player who works well with photojournalists, editors, producers and managers is an absolute necessity. Photojournalist

Responsibilities

Qualifications

  • Must be physically able to lift, carry and handle 30 to 50 pounds of camera gear, and deal with the realities of a Wisconsin winter or summer.
  • Position requires driving.

Multimedia Journalist

Qualifications

Sports Producer
