The first Nike Foamposite dropped in 1997 and features a synthetic upper and a prominent carbon plate, giving the shoe a futuristic appearance. The development of Foamposite led to a change in the traditional ways of manufacturing sneakers. The manufacturers needed to use a glue five times stronger to keep the molded upper attached to the midsole.

Nike Air Foamposite One

Nike Basketball debuted Foamposite technology in two models: the Nike Air Foamposite One and Air Foamposite Pro. The designer, Eric Avar, used a large Swoosh logo on the sides and a 1CENT logo on the Foamposite Pro to distinguish the two models.

The first Foamposite Pro Retro happened in 2001, initiating a seven-colorway run to be released over the next five years. In 2007, Foamposite One was back on the market in four colorways. During this period, Nike released the original Royal style worn by Tim Hardaway but originally intended to get Scottie Pippen.

Between 2009 and 2012, the two Foamposite models gained momentum with releases such as Eggplant and Copper. The hype changed in 2012 when the line introduced Galaxy Foamposite One. This basketball sneaker features foam materials that provide padding and sturdiness. The sneaker features other notable features, including Zoom Air cushioning, a carbon fiber midfoot support plate, and a full-length inner sleeve. The upper of this model is all white and includes other details like burgundy and mismatched green insoles.

Nike Air Foamposite Pro USA

As one of the latest colorways of the model to launch, the USA dresses in a Void, Blue, Gum, Light Brown, White, and University Red color combination. Other features include a mini Swoosh and heel branding and a blue Foamposite shell on the liner. A red Swoosh appears across the panels and on the tongue branding and gum rubber.
