A Look at Air Jordan 5 Wolf Grey Sneakers
The Air Jordan 5 draws inspiration from WWII fighter jets and is found in various Wolf Grey designs.
In 1990, designer Tinker Hatfield was tasked with coming up with the latest sneaker version for the Jordan line. He had set the bar very high with his previous designs for the Air Jordan 3 and 4 but was able to deliver another iconic silhouette when the Air Jordan 5 hit the market.
Reportedly inspired by the ferocity of a WWII fighter jet painted to look like a shark, the Jordan 5 features a zig-zag tooth-like design on the midsole. This sneaker was released in four original colorways, including Black/Black - Metallic Silver, White/Grape Ice - New Emerald, White/Fire Red - Black, and White/Black - Fire Red. Wolf Grey models were introduced throughout the years via various retro releases and are still found on eBay.
Air Jordan 5 Retro Wolf Grey 2011
The Air Jordan 5 Retro Wolf Grey 2011 release featured a Wolf Grey sneaker complete with a gray nubuck upper. Graphite Grey is used for the stitching and the embroidered number "23" on the side of the shoe. The iconic shark tooth-like design on the midsole features a white speckle design and sits atop an ice blue translucent outsole.
Air Jordan 5 Retro PS Wolf Grey Hot Lava
A preschool edition retro release was introduced in 2019. This Air Jordan 5 Retro model features the original 1990 design with a Wolf Grey synthetic nubuck upper, clear netting side panel, and speckled laces. The hot lava red color is used for the embroidered "23" on the side of the shoe as well as the translucent rubber outsole. A white midsole features a black jagged tooth-like design near the forefoot.
Air Jordan 5 Retro GS Wolf Grey
This is another retro version that was originally released as a kids' exclusive. The Wolf Grey color is used throughout the upper, including the mesh side paneling. It also makes an appearance within the black midsole as the color of choice for the shark tooth design. White speckles are also added to the midsole, which sits atop an ice blue translucent outsole. Jumpman logos can be found on the tongue and heel for the classic Jordan branding.
Air Jordan 5 Low GS White Wolf Grey
Another kids' sizing retro release of the Air Jordan 5 hit the market in 2016 in the form of this white sneaker with hits of Wolf Grey. An all-white leather upper includes a Wolf Grey mesh side panel. The white midsole sports a visible Air unit while the Wolf Grey shark tooth design blends nicely into the ice blue translucent outsole. Wolf Grey is used again on the tongue, which features a black Jumpman logo as does the heel of the shoe.

These Retro Air Jordan 5 sneakers feature an all-white leather upper with hits of blue and Wolf Grey for accents. A Wolf Grey midsole sports a visible Air unit while a vibrant blue is used for the shark tooth design as well as the collar and Jumpman logo on the heel.
